2012 in review

As we get very close to the end of 2012 I thought I would give a update on how 2012 has gone for myself with regards to the photography.

At the start of the year my intention was to try and get my photography seen by more people and generally make a better job of marketing myself. Marketing has never been one of my talents so it has been a struggle, but with the help and support of my beautiful wife and some dear friends I am starting to get there.

First thing I did was to get my website up and running, after a complete revamp and included a blog which I update religiously on every shoot that I do, as well as keeping the images up-to-date and fresh.

Delta Photography Website

I emailed a few websites and magazines with a selection of my work and was delighted when some of them responded very positively and wanted to use my images in their publications.
So far this year I have had two of my images printed in a book, which is available through various websites including Amazon, details below:

Book Nudes in Dereliction

Skin Two Magazine is the world’s leading international glossy magazine for the fetish fashion, style and nightlife market and I was delighted when they ran a feature about me on their website.

Skin Two Website

Jade Magazine an international Erotic Art and Literature Magazine ran a feature on me in March and since then they have also published further features on me in September and November editions. Also they have asked me for an image for the front cover of next Year’s August edition of the magazine.

Jade Magazine

I have also had a lot of my images used for promotional material for a new UK website that started this year for people into the Erotic Lifestyle

Erolife Website

I have now created a Facebook Page for all things Delta Photography so why not come and Like. I post regular updates on my shoots, publications and such as well as posting images from the past and present I have taken, Facebook friendly of course.

Facebook Page

You can also follow me on Twitter @Delta-14

Delta Photography on Twitter

I have had my images in an Exhibition in Germany twice now Galerie am Bruseller Platz, Cologne.

I attended London Fetish Weekend on 6th October 2012 to exhibit my work as well as have images for sale, and was surprised with the very positive reaction to my work as well as the sale of a few prints.

I was named Jade Erotic Artist of the Year 2012 in October and presented with my award at the London Fetish Weekend, and I can’t put into words how much this award means to me. For more details on the award please take a look at my blog entry regarding this:

Jade Erotic Artist Of 2012

I was approached in November by W4B (Watch4Beauty) Magazine who wanted to run a feature on me in their magazine. W4B are not just another erotic website - recently they won the Best Erotic Art Magazine Award and have already published many articles about famous photographers, models, painters, adult websites, lifestyle, hi-end technologies etc. So I am delighted to see myself featured in their magazine:

Watch 4 Beauty Magazine

I was also approached by PH Magazine who wanted to feature me in their next issue and I was delighted as they are a much more mainstream magazine and they wanted to run a feature around my Art Nude work. I look forward to seeing this available for viewing in early 2013.

PH Magazine

A long term ambition of mine was to see my photography in a book and this was one of my main objectives at the start of the year to get a book together of my work and get it published. I decided to use Blurb for this, while they are the most expensive, the quality of the final book and prints is the best I could find and I believe worth the extra cost.

I didn’t just want a book which was a portfolio of my work, but one that had a constant theme running through it and I came up with ‘Beauty & Fetish in Dereliction’ as this is mostly what I have been shooting all year and I believe earned me the recognition I have received.

My book is available via the following link to preview and purchase:

Book Beauty & Fetish in Dereliction

As a lot of you will know Photography is a hobby for me it is not my full time job and has been a major investment of my spare time and money since I first purchased a SLR camera back in 2006, so the pleasure I receive to see any of my images in print or people taking the time to comment on my work is a major boost.

Challenges going forward are to exhibit my work more as well as find private commissions for shoots and I am also looking into running training courses into photography and lighting as it is something people have asked me about this year.

Happy New Year to all my readers and all the best for 2013.

Photoshoot with Sapphire_Blue - 1st December 2012

I had my first shoot with Sapphire Blue a few weeks ago and it won’t be my last that’s for sure. Sapphire was a complete star on the day. We both wanted to do a location shoot but in early December it is never the warmest weather, and in fact was down to only a few degrees’ centigrade. I gave Sapphire the opportunity to switch the shoot to my studio but she was determined to shoot out on location, which I was very happy about to be honest as I dislike this time of year because most of the models want to be wrapped up warm in the studio while I still want to be out on location, as I believe that is where I create my best work.

Sapphire turned up for the shoot very well prepared with a flask of Hot Chocolate and a blanket to wrap herself in between shots. The plan was to do some fetish images in this old building and started off with some of her kneeling on the very cold concrete floor with her hands tied behind her. I had Sapphire keep her knickers on for this set, but just pulled down as I thought it would add to the story, but in retrospect I am not convinced that this was a good idea, so will put this set on the list to reshoot at another time minus the knickers.

We then moved onto a set with Sapphire standing but with hands tied above her head, the results of which I was very pleased with. I should say at this point I was using my normal location setup of one strobe off camera with an umbrella with the background being underexposed by a few stops.

Then we moved to Sapphire kneeling and her hands tied in front of her, this turned out to be my favourite image of the shoot and have included it below. I just love how the light catches her bum cheeks & back. I would add with all my photography I move around the model a lot and try images from all different angles as well as some shots from low down as well as high up, and this particular shot is a result of that as I was shooting from Sapphire’s left, but wanted to see what the difference would be from the right and shooting into the light and in my opinion it produced the best shot of the day. This was a lesson I learnt very early on with my photography, to not be afraid to move around and explore the angles. I generally come home as dirty as the models due to laying down on filthy floors trying these different angles and views.

By this time in the shoot Sapphire was freezing and you can’t tell from the images, but she was shivering, so we took a break so she could warm up and have a hot drink, before moving onto a set outside the building where I thought it might be a bit warmer as these old brick buildings always seem damp and colder than out in the fresh air. This time we used a tree to tie Sapphire to and put on a Tongue Clamp.

I was very concerned my how cold Sapphire was getting but like the absolute trooper she is she wanted to do one more set before we left, which was her sitting in the building handcuffed and looking desolate. Once this set was complete we finished up and I got Sapphire back to my house for a warm shower and a hot drink before she drove home.

Sapphire was a joy to work with and gives 150% to the shoot and I can’t wait to work with her again in the New Year, though we may wait for spring when it is a bit warmer as we both want to work on location again.

Book Beauty & Fetish in Dereliction published

Since starting photography back in 2005 I have always wanted to share my work through a book and at last I felt I had a body of work worth sharing in this media. I did not want to just publish a book which was a portfolio of my work but for it to have a constant theme running throughout. I came up with the Dereliction theme, as shooting in derelict buildings is now my preferred environment for photoshoots.

I am delighted to say the book is now available for you all to buy by clicking on the following link where a preview is also available.

Beauty & Fetish In Dereliction Book

I am delighted that Mark Marsay The Editor of ‘Jade the International Erotic Art and Literature Magazine’ has been kind enough to right the foreword for the book and can’t thank him enough for his support of my photographic endeavours.

I would like to thank my wife for her constant support and help regarding my photography as well as all the models I have worked with since I started. Everyone of them has helped me develop my artistic, creative and photographic skills, enabling me to produce a body of work I personally feel proud of.

I would also like to give special thanks to China Hamilton who I met back in 2009 whilst doing an interview with him for my degree course. Since then he became my mentor and has given me his unwavering time, support and advice. His sometimes harsh, but very constructive critism of my work, has made me view my images in a new light and enabled me to improve my photographic style to where it is today.

I hope you all buy and enjoy the book.

Photoshoot with TansyBlue & Cage 29th October 2012

TansyBlue and I had been discussing doing a shoot together for a little while and one of her ideas was to involve a male model in the shoot, with the male model being the dominant in various fetish scenes we discussed.

TansyBlue did ask me if I knew any male models who would fit the part, but my list of male models is very small and I thought it was important that TansyBlue picked the model as she would need to be comfortable working with them as I felt this would be critical for the success of the shoot.
TansyBlue found Cage through one of the modelling sites, who had a great look and fitted the part/role we had in mind for him. Now all we had to do was book a date which we quickly did and planned for the shoot to be out on location as an old building I knew would really help with the story. The date we booked the shoot for was maybe not a good one in hindsight.

TansyBlue and Cage planned to travel up to me after TansyBlue finished college that morning, which once they got here turned out to be after 2 o’clock in the afternoon and as we were going out on location I was worried about the light as it was a very overcast day and the clocks had gone forward that weekend so I feared we didn’t have many daylight hours left to shoot in.

I think by the time we got to the location it was 3 o’clock and the building I wanted to use was very dark inside, so we decided to start doing some images on the outside of the building having TansyBlue tied to tree’s etc. With Cage pulling on ropes, holding TansyBlue by the neck and generally not being very nice. I was very impressed with the latex outfits Cage brought with him which it turns out he also made for himself. I should say I used my normal lighting setup of one strobe off camera with an umbrella for the whole of the shoot. When shooting with more than one model together though you have to be very careful on the placement of the light to ensure one of the models is not throwing ugly shadows over the other etc. This can also be avoided by watching the light and getting the models to move an arm, head or other body part as required.

After the first set we moved into another building and had TansyBlue lay down while giving Cage two pinwheels to use on her. By now the light was really fading quickly so we went back to the other building to try an idea we had talked about of TansyBlue with Ballgag and on a chain with Cage dressed holding the chain and a whip. The first few images worked ok but suddenly I could not even see TansyBlue and Cage through the viewfinder of the camera as we had no ambient light at all so my composition and focusing was becoming a bit hit and miss so we had to call a halt to the shoot. The image shown below was the last image taken on the day and was a lucky shot really as to be honest I could not see anything when I took it and just guessed roughly on the correct position of the subjects.

While I love the challenge of working outside at night, you do have to have some sort of light such as Moonlight, streetlights etc. The problem we had was we were in the middle of nowhere with no sources of light at all.

I do hope I get to work with both TansyBlue & Cage together again when we have more time as they work together really well and are both bring so much creativity to the shoot.

Photoshoot with Clover 28th October 2012

I had my third shoot of the year with Clover last weekend and can’t believe how little we have shot together this year. Looking back at my previous shoots I worked out we had shot on average 9 times a year since our first shoot together back in March 2009.

We chatted about this on our shoot and it’s all down to both our lives just getting busier and not being able to schedule our diary’s to match at a months’ notice. So we have a plan! In the next few months we will book up at least 8 dates in the 2013 diary to ensure we get back to our normal amount of shoots and also try and schedule in a few of those shoot being full weekends. Anyway I am digressing and should get back to the topic of the actual shoot.

I had no real plans for this shoot other than a School Mistress & Schoolgirl theme with my wife Kazperella playing the School Mistress as she has the sternest School Mistress expressions I have even seen, in fact they are damn right scary? My wife then came up with a puppet idea while we were watching a music video on the morning of the shoot featuring puppets, so we had all our ideas sorted.
Due to the weather we used the studio for the shoot and I went with a very simple light setup of just the main light with large softbox and grid, occasionally incorporating a hair light on to gain some separation from the background.

It was so much fun shooting my Kazperella and Clover together and we had all forgotten how much fun we had doing these shoots, so more of them will be planned in next year’s diary for sure. Also they are very easy for me to shoot as when they work together the ideas just seem to evolve on their own with some great and very different results.

Once we had completed the school theme we moved onto the puppet set, which took a while to setup as in having the ropes connect to the ceiling and still allowing movement so my wife could play the puppeteer standing on a chair beside clover and pull on the ropes. This started off with Clover looking doll like with ribbons in her hair, but then developed into a Kinky Puppet theme with nipple clamps and dental gag. One of the shots from this set can be seen below.

We then finished of the shoot with an idea of Clovers, where Kazperella dribbled red wax onto her tongue which was clamped between two bits of bamboo.

This image can be seen on my Facebook group. You will need to be signed into Facebook to view it and while you are there why not leave me a like on my Delta Photography Facebook Page

Photoshoot with Jools - 26th October 2012

Jools and I had arranged another shoot a year since we last shot together out on location doing a Beauty and the beast idea of Jools that worked so well due to her brilliant make up skills. This time though due to the weather we arranged to shoot in my warm studio. Which was just as well as it was freezing on the day and very wet.

Neither of us had any real ideas for the shoot beforehand and just went with the flow so to speak. We came up with this idea of her boyfriend Nick wearing a mask and terrorising her as a starting concept and to see where it lead. I used only one light in the studio from camera right, with a large softbox with grid to ensure the light only went where I wanted it to, as with this set it was important not to get light leaking onto the black background.

We experimented with the theme and it developed from Jools being terrorised to almost worshiping the mask giving an interesting twist.

All in all it was a very different pace of shoot due to being in the studio, which is a major rarity for me these days. Though I think I will be in the studio a lot more over the coming winter months, which I can’t say I am totally happy about as I always believe my best work is out on location.

Photoshoot with Sami-C - 20th October 2012

Surprisingly it has been 18 months since I last did a shoot with Sami-C, somehow I don’t think it will be as long before the next shoot with her as on both occasions now we have a very enjoyable shoot together and created some great results.
We had been discussing this shoot for a long time and were hoping that we would able to schedule the shoot earlier in the year as we both wanted to shoot at the same location we had used before, but for whatever reason we could not find a date where our diaries matched until last weekend. So even though the temperature was dropping we still wanted to go ahead with our location plans.

Even though we both wanted to use the same location, I didn’t want to use the same building as before and wanted to use a building where there is an old brick archway inside. I have shot a few times in this room before and had always wanted to capture an art nude within the archway, but for whatever reason I have not got the shot before I really had in my mind. So I decided to use this particular building with my main aim being to capture that particular image that had been in my head for a long time now.

It was a cold damp day but like the gentleman I am, I packed a fluffy pink dressing gown in my bag for Sami-C to wear betweens sessions. I have to say though as the day’s shoot progressed the sun was constantly trying to come out but failing miserably so I have to commend Sami-C for coping with the cold and not letting it show in any of the images.
We drove to the location and walked to the building I planned to use for the shoot. On arriving and looking around the location in general I was surprised by the state of some of building and the decline in them in the short time since my last visit to the location. I am starting to think that the location may become practically unusable next year just on safety reasons. Most of the buildings are wooden and every visit see’s more and more roofs collapsing etc.

The first thing we had to do was clear the brambles growing on top of the arch and hanging down into the actual archway I wanted Sami-C to be in. I have to thank Sami-C’s husband who was a trooper and climbed up the arch and cleared it all.
Once we had generally cleared the area I set the lighting up for the shot which in my mind had always been backlit. So I set up a strobe behind the arch at about 45 degrees to the opening with an umbrella. For this type of set-up it is essential to have Wireless triggers that will work even though you do not have line of site from the camera to the actual strobe, I use Pocket Wizards and would highly recommend them.
After some minor position changes with the strobe and camera settings I got Sami-C to pose in the archway and just loved how the light just instantly gave me the look I had envisaged within my mind. Now we just had to work on the pose which came very quickly and this final image can be seen below.

We continued with this set-up for a while, trying different poses before getting Sami-C to put on a leather jacket, gloves and boots and trying this in the archway and then changing the jacket for a scarf. I always think nude shots can look great if the model is wearing something, even if it is just one item of clothing, my influence for this comes from Dahmane’s book ‘Dressed Nudes’ which is well worth trying to find a copy of.
By then I was thinking we had exhausted the use of the actual arch and so took some more images in the same building, but using different walls as the backdrop, trying to show the rough textures of the walls against the smooth skin of Sami-C.
We then moved to the building next door, which was in a real bad state as in collapsed roof and walls that looked like they had seen better days. So we were very careful in this building to not disturb anything and finished the shoot with some more art nude shots against this general dereliction and also a few mild fetish one’s with Sami-C manacled to the walls etc. Again for all these images I used just the one Strobe with an umbrella generally to Model left.

This was a very successful shoot from my perspective and I will be working with Sami-C again in the near future.

Jade Erotic Artist Of the Year 2012

I am delighted to have just been awarded the Jade Erotic Artist of 2012 award where I was presented with a trophy as in the image seen and a certificate with the following citation on it.

‘The recipient of this year’s award, photographer Tim Rosier, has continued to both expand his repertoire and develop his skills in recent years. With a keen artistic eye, he has created a style of high quality, sensual erotic photography which both pleases and excites the viewer. His most recent
exemplary ‘location work’, in which he features his models in both breathtaking natural and abandoned industrial settings, has served to secure him this award, one which we feel is justified not only by his on-going professionalism, but by his acute attention to detail and artistic eye in creating such a stunning portfolio of work.’

This award is in its fourth year and I feel very honoured to be mentioned in the same breath as the previous winners as in Robert Babylon, John Tisbury and Gregory Brown.
Since I started in photography just over 7 years ago I have strived to improve and create a style all of my own which people can recognise as a Tim Rosier image. This I feel has been now been achieved and recognised by others in the industry which makes this award a very proud achievement in my photographic career. Although this does not mean I can now stop as I will always continue to try and improve on my photographic skills. None of this I could have achieved without the unwavering support of my beautiful wife, friends and also some great coaching and critique from China Hamilton just when I needed it, which helped photography improve by leaps and bounds.

Photoshoot with Maddy - 24th September 2012

I came across Maddy on Fetlife and saw she was just treading the early steps of modelling having done a shoot with another photographer very recently, as she was in Northamptonshire I dropped her a mail and starting a discussion regarding doing a shoot together.

As it turned out she was more local than I initially thought as she lived in the same town as me and was only 5 minutes walk from my house and studio. As we were so close she popped around for a cuppa so we could talk about the shoot and different ideas about a week before the actual shoot.
We both wanted to do the shoot out on location, but on the day of the shoot it was pouring with rain, so we reverted to plan B which was to use the studio.

I have to say Maddy was a delight to work with and for someone with so little modelling experience she was a natural and I am delighted with the results.

I used one main light for all the images in the studio with a large softbox and added a hair light to some of the images. But mainly I concentrated on just the one light, which is my preference these days as it is the same as I use on location most of the time and gives me the effect I want, with just the correct placement of the light to the model.

We started with something I had done before as in Maddy wearing a body stocking which we ripped apart. This particular body stocking had a spider web pattern on it, which created some great lines and patterns, contrasting with the holes we added. I have included my favourite shot from this set below, which while editing I dropped in a different background using Photoshop, something I haven’t done for quite a while.

We then proceeded to do further fetish type images and finished with some art nude shots, some of these can be seen in the Galleries sections of my website.

This was a very productive shoot for me and was hoping to shoot lot’s more with Maddy with her being so close, but seems she is off to University in York any day now, so I will have to just make do with shooting with her again when she comes home for holidays.

Photoshoot with Maja - 18th September 2012

Here is one of my favourite images from a recent shoot with Maja.

The shoot was done out on location at an old building which I am sure a lot of you will recognise from some of my previous images.

This was Maja's first real shoot and although she was nervous beforehand, she soon settled into it and helped create some great images.

Photoshoot with Laura - 31st August 2012

I can’t believe when I look back, that the last time I did a photoshoot with Laura it was back in late January. Where does the time go? I remember talking to Laura soon after that first shoot together, about arranging another one. Let’s hope it does not take me as long to get her back down for another shoot.

The plan for this shoot was to try and get back to doing some fetish imagery as I seem to have been concentrating more on the Artistic Nude against the backdrop of dereliction this summer.
I still wanted to do this fetish shoot on location as I am sure it will not be long before the weather just gets too cold for location shoots, and I have to return to the studio. Although I will avoid it as long as possible as I just love mixing ambient light with strobe light.

I didn’t have any firm plans for this shoot other than fetish being the theme and just wanted to play it by ear and see what developed.
This turned out to be a very productive shoot and I am very pleased with the results. I used only one strobe for the whole shoot as fill in and set the camera to underexpose for the ambient light.
Mine and Laura’s favourite image from the shoot, is interesting as I was shooting Laura against an old brick wall on the outside of the building, where the sun was creating great patterns of light due to having to come through tree’s and the undergrowth.

I was getting some great images shooting from Laura’s left, but decided to see what it would look like shooting from her right through some shrubbery. The light was even better from this angle and reminded me of one of the most important bits of advice I ever read when trawling through all those books on photography, Move!!! Yes don’t just stand in front of your subject, move around, get low, get high, and basically work the angles. Sometimes the results will not be good, but sometimes they exceed your expectations.

I have included a Critique that someone left on this image in Deviantart and I was so impressed with his description I just had to let you all read. I wish I was able to use the English language this well in describing photographs.

“The first word I used to describe this image was "haunting". And indeed, it has a sort of dark fairy tale forest sort of feel to it. But this comes from the juxtaposition of elements rather than any one unearthly effect.

The model leans back against a brick wall, head cocked at a carefree angle. Her arms raise in a leisurely yawn. She could be stepping through the French windows of a stately bedroom to greet the dawn, for all her pose tells us. What you see of her face betrays nothing but serenity.

The light, broken by trees, shatters and refracts. The shards mottle the brick wall and what vegetation has taken hold there. She is leaning back against the cold clay, relishing the shower of sunlight on her nude form.

But for all the cheery disposition of the model, everything else in this scene has a dark or threatening aspect. Bare cobwebbed branches jut out in the foreground, reminding me of the Hudson River School of painters. The girl is bound, a knotted crotchrope pulled tight. Clamps connect her nipples by a chain that hangs catenary. She is ballgagged and blindfolded.

When you look closer, you begin to see that the model is the one tying the blindfold on. Her hands could easily undo everything on her, but that little detail suddenly explains everything. Once you see this as a self-bondage scene, the placid expression becomes more of a satisfied smile. The model is in her element amid cold bricks and rough rope, thorny branches and steel clamps.

This is an image that keeps me looking for more. I cannot tell where technical flaws end and serendipity begins! I have to wonder if Delta feels like a careful plan bore wonderful fruit or if lightning struck. The shadows and branches and ropes all play together pragmatically against the model's body, and yet the subject of the photo remains clear.

It still haunts me, but in so many wonderful ways!"

Please feel free to leave feedback, comments etc. It is much appreciated.

Photoshoot - Miss Jezebel 20th July 2012

It has happened at last, I have done a shoot with the lovely Miss Jezebel. We have been trying for what seems like ages to work together but life seems to have got in the way of all our previous plans until now.

I am pleased to say the shoot has now happened, and now I want to plan shooting with Miss Jezebel again as it was such an enjoyable experience and well worth waiting for.

The plan had always been to do art nude images out on location, so we went to a favourite haunt of mine. Recently I have been getting this fixation with art nude and adding some item of clothing like a scarf, boots or small top etc. I don’t know why this would be but think it is influenced by looking at a book by the amazing photographer ‘Dahmane’. The book is called Dressed Nudes and in all the images the models are wearing some item of clothing. If you haven’t looked at the work of Dahmane before I would recommend you take a look.

With this in mind I had asked Miss Jezebel bring along some clothing we could use which she did including an amazing top, thigh high boots among other things. We started with the top and boots and an example of these images can be seen below.

We then switched to a new outfit which can be seen below. As always for these images I was using one strobe off camera with an umbrella as fill light and setting the camera to underexpose the background at the sametime as capture the ambient light streaming into the building.

We finished the shoot with a set of Miss Jezebel naked apart from the boots but standing astride a long pit in the building. I wanted to try and create something dramatic with this setting, so while having my normal light setup of one strobe to camera left. I also put another strobe in the pit pointing up at Miss Jezebel to create a dramatic shadow behind her on the wall. I was really pleased with how this setup worked and how the shadow really adds to the drama of the image.

Now all I have to do is persuade Miss Jezebel to come and visit me again for another shoot.

Photoshoot with Clover & Lizzie_Spritz - 14th July 2012

I have just this morning finished editing the images from my Shoot with Clover and Lizzie_Spritz from a few weeks ago, so I thought this would be a good time to update my blog.

As many of you will know if you are regular readers of my blog, I have worked with Clover on shoots more times than I can count and I have worked with her very good friend Lizze_Spritz once before when she was called Kittysprite, so it seemed inevitable that we would all work together on a shoot and at last it has happened.

I have had some ideas running through my head for a long time, regarding having two naked models in one of my derelict Building locations to try and show depth and different light patterns of the buildings, so this was a perfect opportunity to explore these ideas with two of the most creative models I have had the pleasure of working with.

This was one of the most enjoyable shoots I have done this year, at the same time as being the most challenging technically, as I had to balance the ambient light in two different places in the building and use two Strobes one on each model as fill light. At the same time the weather was constantly changing with the sun out one minute and back behind a cloud the next.

So a lot of thought went into the placement of both Clover and Lizze_Spritz, with regards the location and also the light shining on them and that was before we even thought of the poses etc.

Below are a selection of my favourite images from the day.
I was really pleased with the results from this shoot, as with all ideas before a shoot you never know if it will work how you envisaged, but due to having 3 creative minds willing to experiment the results exceeded my expectations and we are already discussing doing another shoot along the same lines, which I am really looking forward to. All I have to do now is get a date in the diary.

To finish the shoot, Clover had this idea of the both of them in white knickers, which were all wet and I have to say this idea worked brilliantly and was fun to finish a very succesful shoot with.

Photoshoot with Jade-Samantha - 12th July 2012

I did a shoot back in early February this year with Jade-Samantha and our original plan for that shoot was to do it out on location, but we had to change our plans at the last minute and use the studio instead.

We had both wanted to arrange another shoot so we could work together out on location and managed to fulfil those plans a few weeks ago.

We wanted to try some Art Nude as well as some light fetish images. I chose a location which has an old building which is located in woodland and would meet our requirements for the fetish shots in the building and the Art Nude outside in the woodland area.

The difficult part I had was balancing the ambient light with the single strobe I was using as the sun was out but going behind clouds every few minutes, so it was a case of waiting between shots for the sun to come back out, which was frustrating at the same time as a positive as it slows down the shooting process, which I believe is good thing, as gives me more time to think between shots to study the pose & lightening.

Below is a few of the Art Nude shots, the 2nd of which is interesting as Jade-Samantha is standing inside a building and I am shooting from outside through the undergrowth which had grown up around the entrance. I have lit Jade-Samantha with a single strobe inside the building to camera left, with the foliage being lit be the sun coming from behind the camera.

The last set of images we did were in the building with Jade-Samantha tied by the wrists and below is my favourite image from this shoot. I love how Jade-Samantha seems to be looking into this pit in front of her and how the light shows off the curves in her back and bum.

Photoshoot with Akaridesire - 30th June 2012

After a bit of juggling of the diary Akaridesire and myself managed to get another shoot arranged. If regularly read my blog, you will remember we last worked together back in March this year, where we got some great artistic nude images.

I wanted to revisit the same location and continue to work in the Artistic Nude genre with Akaridesire as I believe she has the perfect body for this genre and has legs that just go on and on.

Again on a location shoot this year it was a typical overcast day, but luckily the rain held off until we were driving back. As normal on location I used my same set-up of using one strobe as the main light on Akaridesire, while balancing the ambient for the background etc.

This time though rather than going for heavily posed shots as I did last time, I wanted a much more relaxed look to the images and I think we managed to achieve this, but I will let you all be the judge.

As I write this the news tells me that summer is just around the corner, which is hard to believe as we are nearly into August already. But fingers crossed they are right as I have a few location shoots coming up over the next month, so watch this space.

Photoshoot with Velvet - 16th June 2012

Here are a few images from a location shoot I did with Velvet a few weeks ago on one of those rare dry days we have had so far this summer.

I am sure Velvet will write up the experience much better than me on her Blog.

As you can see from the images we went for a bit of a Victorian theme.
Sorry this blog is a bit short, but the day job is seriously having an impact on my photography, website updates etc. at the moment.

Photoshoot with Sarah - 2nd June 2012

Well it’s been a month since I last updated my blog, which seems a long very time, considering I do try and arrange 2 to 3 shoots a month and more if I can. May though turned out to be a pretty dead months as far as shoots go. This was mainly due to having 3 shoots being cancelled for various reasons which happens. The frustration from my point is my shooting time per month is very limited and if it get’s cancelled for any reason it is very difficult to arrange another shoot at short notice so the opportunity tends to be lost.

I need to find a model that would like to be my muse, who would be able to step in at short notice and is willing to experiment with different ideas and locations. I have tried in the past  to find a muse, but have as yet failed in this endeavour so if any one reading this wants to discuss this, then please feel free to drop me a mail.

I am digressing as I should be writing about a Shoot I did a few weeks ago with Sarah. Sarah and myself have been trying to arrange a shoot together for quite a while now. Thankfully we got together on a Saturday morning and the weather while not sunny at least it was not raining which was a major surprise with the weather we have had so far this year. So we could go ahead with our plans for shooting on location, the ideas for the shoot had been to do some artistic nude images in this old building as well as some fetish type images.

We started off doing some images of Sarah in a under bust corset before moving onto some art nude shots, though to try and give the art nude images a slight difference edge Sarah put on some Fetish Ballet Boots which I always think look great, although as yet I have only met one model who can actually walk in them.

We then finished off the shoot with some fetish style images. The weather suddenly got a lot colder and so we didn’t shoot as long as we both would have liked but we are already discussing ideas and dates for a next shoot, so I am sure 2nd time around we can do even better together.

Photoshoot with Kelly - 21st April 2012

Well after a week being layed low with a throat virus, I thought it was about time I started to catch up on things that have drifted a bit over the past week, starting with my blog regarding a shoot I did with Kelly a few weeks ago.

We had been discussing the shoot for quite a while, emailing each other ideas etc. We both agreed to do the shoot on location and wanted to go for some artistic nude shots and then move onto some light fetish.

As everyone knows the British weather is not exactly playing ball regarding location shoots at present, but at least the day was dry if extremely cold.

We started off doing the artistic nude shots in an old abandoned building, which I have since learnt is the old boiler room from a World War II air base and is only one of two buildings left of the Air Base.

It soon became very apparent to me that Kelly was getting extremely cold, but she was determined to work through it, so we continued on for about 2 hours before I called a halt to the shoot, as Kelly’s legs would not stop shakingJ

By then we had done quite a few art nude shots and some fetish type shots. Though before I let Kelly get dressed I decided to do a few of Kelly in just her coat in the road which is only a 100 yards from the building and tends to be an extremely quiet area so I didn’t think we would get to many interruptions from other cars.

I have to say Kelly was a trooper for a inexperienced model and gave everything to the shoot even though it was clear she was freezing cold. As we didn’t accomplish everything we wanted to on the shoot we have arranged another shoot for June when fingers crossed it will be a lot warmer.

Catch up Time

I thought it was about time I caught up, as I am about 3 or 4 blogs behind at present, so decided to get myself back on track in combining the last few shoots into one.

A few weeks ago I did my first shoot with Alice, which was done on location at one of my favorite locations. In all the time I have used this location I have never encountered any people but this time we encountered a man who once he saw what we were doing just didn't want to go away. It was a good job Alice was an exhibitionist as this man wanted to stay, watch and talk for about an hour. So we just had to continue and give him a story which I am sure he has fully told at his local pub on more than one occasion:-)

Anyway here is one of the images from the shoot with Alice.

I have also done another shoot with Cat who stepped in at the very last minute, when I model I had booked had to postpone our shoot for a very good reason. This shoot was done in the studio and I think this is my favorite image from the shoot.

I will get back to my normal longer blog's for my next shoot within the next few days.

Photoshoot with Perilune - 26th March 2012

I can’t believe it’s been nearly a month since I last put up a blog and did a shoot, but looking back my last shoot was back on the 10th March with Akaridesire.

With the normal pressures of life I am finding it difficult at the moment to schedule in the amount of shoots I would like to do, but let’s hope with spring just around the corner they will become more frequent.

Perilune and myself have been talking about a naughty bride style shoot for ages, which we wanted to do at an old derelict building and maybe also in woodland. Perilune had dug out her wedding outfit and I had the perfect location of an old building in the middle of some woodlands. So we arranged everything and in fact were lucky enough to have a nice day for the shoot which was surprising for the end of March.

We started off doing some images of Perilune in the woodland area beside the building, which was a constant battle with lighting as the sun kept coming out and then going behind the clouds, so I was constantly changing camera settings as I always shoot on manual as it gives me more flexibility as to if I want the background blurred or not depending on each individual scene I am shooting. I had decided for the first set just to get some nice bridal shots with a difference due to the location before moving onto the naughty bride shots.

Once we had completed this set we were going to do the naughty bride set in the building but I noticed the amazing shadows that the sun was creating on the outside wall of the building, so decided to use that wall to see what we could create. It’s funny I have used this location many times, but never seen the light work on that wall in this way before. So we moved to this location and I took some more bridal shots of Perilune capturing the shadow play on the wall, before moving on to the naughty bride set.

I was in Amsterdam back in early March and couldn’t believe my luck to find a beautiful glass dildo in a sale for 10 Euro’s, yes an amazing bargain which was perfect for our ideas of the naughty bridge. We started with Perilune leaning back on the wall and  I just asked her to act the naughty bride which she was surprising good at. Then I had her lay down in front of the wall and continued with the naughty bride them.

To finish the shoot we did some artistic nudes against the wall this time with Perilune wearing just an amazing set of nipple jewellery that I had always wanted to photograph her wearing since the day she bought them a few years ago.

All these shots were taken using an off camera strobe with umbrella balanced with the natural light, which is my standard set-up for location shoots.
